In Denise's words: "In Holding Medusa", Medusa becomes the subject of an alchemical transformation. The work explores her surrender to her plight, a profound psychological death that becomes a catalyst for rebirth and liberation. This narrative reframes Medusa not as a victim, but as a figure of immense transformative power, embodying the archetypes of Shaman, Initiator, and Alchemist.
These are powerful and poetic works. Denise will be doing an Artist Talk on the Saturday after her opening.
